Warm fellowship, Pizza, and the chapel all beckoned,
Faces new and old, beaming but weary,
Prepared with prayer, song and sharing of stories,
The love rising once again for each other,
And the Men in Green.
Doors with locks, punctuated with razor wire, opened more easily,
Love was to be seen in curious places,
kind words disarmed us as we entered,
The Lord had paved our path, calming the seas,
Then they came, Those Men in Green.
We mingled and shared, our colors mixed,
A tapestry of stories, images, songs and understanding,
Creating a crescendo of love, so loud no doors could hold,
God’s love set us all free in Cayuga;
Marking permanently the color of love in the Men in Green.
